Founded by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo, under the guidance of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, Kunzang Palyul Choling (KPC) is a Buddhist temple in the Tibetan Nyingma tradition. KPC offers teachings and activities to help you and anyone interested - no matter your faith -- transform your mind and life for the benefit of others. It is is a place where you can be inspired, accepted, and loved. Everyone is welcome.
Inside you are surrounded with sacred supports, statues, images, texts, and beautiful crystals. You will find space for quiet contemplation, or traditional Vajrayana practice.
Set in the Agricultural Reserve in Montgomery County, we are surrounded by 65 acres of walking trails and meditation gardens, open to the public, to offer you a break - time to exhale from your busy world.
Regulars and friends of KPC also reach out to the community and beyond, with projects that help alleviate pain and suffering. A rescue aviary for companion parrots, multi-weekly lunches for homeless, teachings to those in prison, house or business blessings by the ordained community are some of the ways. We also offer special prayers for anyone who requests them.
Since 1985 there has been an unbroken 24-hour prayer vigil. Someone is always praying for the end of suffering for all beings. The temple is open 24 hours a day for anyone who wants a quiet place to be safe and welcome.
If you are inspired by the mission, your donation in any amount will make you a part of it. You will be supporting the healing of the world, beginning with yourself.
