Honoring my immigrant parents and son
by Mary Anne Gibbons
Since retiring, I've been raising funds for my parish dinner program. We serve homeless and low income individuals dinner each weekday, provide free haircuts, warm clothing, emergency medicine and legal services and help them find housing, jobs and other services. Just last week, Francisca (a recent immigrant) was released from the hospital after being raped on the street and badly beaten up. She had no home and no money for pain medicine for her broken jaw. We bought her medicine, found her housing and connected her with social services. William needed job-training and housing. We paid for his housing, got him into a great chef training program and encouraged him along the way. He got a great job and no longer needs our help.

I am the daughter of two Irish immigrants and the mother of a Guatemalan immigrant. I honor them and all my immigrant ancestors through this service and would be so grateful for any help you can give to this vital program.

We are in this Together
by Stephen Lopez
Being children of immigrant parents and knowing how hard it could be to prosper with no support, our aim has been to be a pillar for those who need a helping hand. Whether it is providing a plate of food, assisting with job and house search, or referring people to different legal services, we have strived to help those who might be struggling. We have been able find housing for many.
We would be extremely grateful if you would consider donating to our cause. Our doors are always open to anyone who would like to come to the Sacred Heart Dinner Program.
